Ovarian cancer -convert to disability after getting regular
First diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2008, I retired when it recurred in 2010 but only requested and received regular SS because I did not know OC would have been automatically approved for SS disability. I retired from work in Oct of 2010. I just turned 63. Can I convert from regular to disability SS now?

Had you opted for the SSD it would have been automatically converted to SSR when you retired. But since you have already signed up for SSR you can't just change it back. Sorry.

Disappointing. No one I was involved with seemed to know about this 2009 change when I applied the summer of 2010. I didn't even know to ask! Never thought of it.
