I want to set up a mailto link with MANY names afterwards. However, when I set up the link, it only works if I have about 90 names. Anything more than that and the link appears on the page but is not active. Why is there this upper limit, what exactly is it and is there any way around it?

    Thanks

Unfortunately, this is one of those areas where the software you are you are using causes the problem. Outlook 9.0 on Windows 2000 is limited to 540 characters, Using IE5.5 with Lotus Notes, I was limited to about 10000 characters.

This is a limit set by the software developers. It is not part of any standard. The safest way to code the list is to send the mail to one address with a .forward file set up to distribute, or to a redistribution point like a Yahoo group.
