I smoked about 3 weeks ago and haven't smoked in about 18 months. I took 2 hits and was done. I had a follicle test this week 7-20-2011. What are the chances I pass?

Your chances are pretty good, better than 50/50 that you will pass. Cannabis isn't easily incorporated into hair and infrequent use is generally not detected in hair tests.

In fact, occasional and low use smokers are far better off taking a hair test than a urine test due to the unpredictable storage and release of THC in fatty tissue. In contrast to other illicit drugs, hair analysis lacks the sensitivity to act as a detector for cannabinoids. As example, cocaine has an incorporation rate (ICR) 3600 times that of THC-COOH.

The downside is that THC is an unpredictable element, I call it the elusive molecule because you never know where or when it will show up. But the odds are in your favor. Would appreciate hearing back when you get the results.

I would say pretty good. I smoked 3 about weeks before a hair follicle test and passed. I hadn't smoked for about 18 mo. Though so there was minimal trace in my system. I also used a hair cleanser called Magnum, washed about 4X. Good luck, I know how nerve racking it is.

Hair cleanser only makes your hair clean, it will not effect the test.

I guess the question is, why do you have to take a puff now and then if you know you are going to be tested

I really appreciate it because I'm freakin out right now, if I don't pass this, I'm f**ked! Not only I won't get the job which that I will have every weekend off including Fridays, I will have a lot of explaining 2 do 2 my parents and my oldest brother who got me on... lol
