What can I do about fines I owe but cant pay
I was given almost eight hundred dollars in fines through the court I am unable to pay but dear going to jail I have 6 month old son and no family to help me? I live in Alabama. What are my options? What can I do to prevent myself from going to jail?
Ps I haven't work in over a year so I have no money saved up at this time I am on public assistance |

You sound like a sad case with the government on your butt and everything. You're on welfare and you're a struggling parent... But, you didn't say you were disabled. If you CAN work, and choose not to, I don't have any sympathy for you. But, more importantly, the COURT won't have sympathy for you either. Certainly, if you CAN'T work, I would have told you how to craft a letter to the court that would keep you out of jail. But, since you are ABLE to work, strap your baby on your back and go collect cans. If you show up at the courthouse every day with your baby strapped to your back, some cans you collected from their trash, AND a payment, I promise you - you will NOT go to jail. excon |
