    Filling a hole with top soil
    Should I tamp down top soil when filling a 4 inch deep area that's about 4 feet by 10 feet before seeding? Not sure what to do... need help

    Tamp it down and let it settle or you'll have a crater.

    Mix and stir your soil with water first, not into a mud, but enough to moisten the soil and then put it in.:)
