A lot of guys go for looks. I wouldn't stress out about it. The more you wait the better the person will be

Because they think they no what the want but the don't most of them like girls that "put out" and those are the ones you want to avoid unless you want to... but when a girl dolls up for them and breaks the rules (a real bad ) they fall head over heels! The one I hang with dose

It actually depends on the kind of attention you desire (YES there are more than one type)
If you crave sexual attention, wear revealing (please don't wear one of those torn up shirts that make you look like you just got raped that's just trashy) clothing and walk around like you own the place, but be selective in who you choose to talk or associate with for it will communicate to the guys you are not some easy girl that'll fall head over heels in a blink of an eye, also it keeps the losers away. It's all about confidence.
If you crave personal, emotional attention, speak your mind often and ask for advice (from guys) about subjects that bother you in life.

P.S. not to make you feel bad, but from personal experience my friends and I tell lots of girls that they're pretty when nothing can be further from the truth just to make them feel good about themselves. I do the opposite actually, I tell ugly girls that they're pretty (to help themselves esteem), but I rarely tell pretty girls that they're so because the truth is they probably know and don't need you to tell them something they already know (and also because they could use a little modesty lol). You rarely hear anyone being called ugly cause that's just plain mean and unnecessary, but it kind of pisses me off when I see a butt ugly girl prancing around in a skirt acting like a porn star just because some people told her she was pretty. But I digress. Sorry I just saw one from school and had to vent it out somewhere, but I'm sure you're a very pretty girl lol (I'll let you dwell on that for a bit).

This is something my husband told me a few weeks ago, and I shall pass it on: The kind of attention a woman wants will be displayed by how she presents herself. Guys are attracted to a certain confidence that draws them in, because they aren't intimidated by it, and some (women too) are just too shallow to see more from a person, and instead pursue the body, the wallet, and the car.
