    Physics Question
    Describe what is required for a magnetic field to be used to generate energy. How must a conductor loop be oriented and what must it do relative to the magnetic field.

    This principle is what is used in a dynamo. (You might want to read more about it on the net). The energy conversion occurs when a coil of conducting wire is rotated between two different poles of two permanent magnets.

    A simple ac generator model:



    And a simple dc generator model:



    The coil actually cuts the field lines are it rotates (driven by water, steam, etc) and by Fleming's left hand rule, there is a current which will flow in the coil.
