    math coursework
    the equation I'm given is x*x=x+x+x+x


    pleasehelp asap I just don't get how u get a soulution to it as there are no numbers to start with :confused:

    ancer is x*x=4x
    x*x/x=4x/x
    x= 4

    The equation is asking this:

    What two numbers multiplied together = 4 numbers added together.

    Guess and Check is a good strategy for this.

    x*x=x+x+x+x
    x^2 = 4x
    x^2 - 4x = 0
    (x+0) (x-4) = 0

    x + 0 = 0
    x = 0

    x – 4 = 0
    x = 4

    Therefore, x = 0 or 4
