I spent hours searching for a specialist and found her. It said she took my insurance.
She had unbeliveable credentials... opthamology. She had a tech check for glaucoma
And then a new doctor examine, diagnose and recommend treatment. She came into the
Room and looked at my eyes for about fifteen seconds and said she concurs with the
Doctor's treatment. Yes, it's a teaching hospital,but no one said I would not get
The doctor I made the appointment with. Is this legal. What if she bills me.

If it was a teaching hospital, this is the way it is supposed to be done. They have to have a qualified certified professional to assess the work that has be done by students. Yes it is legal. No you will only be billed once.

I need more responses because this doctor has her own office in the hospital and I think I had a right to be told that the doctor who is charging my ins co is the same dr who examined, diagnosed and advised treatment is different. I agree I will probably only be billed once. My prev doctors were w/another hosp and no one switched on my

Jammy if you feel this strongly about knowing, I think you had better call the physician's office or the school. We can't really tell you this was wrongly handled, but if the physician was the teaching physician, then I can understand why you were booked in with her, (as she was the one who had the credentials) and attended by the students.

When I go to the dentist (just a for instance) for my check up, I am booked in with my dentist, seen by the hygienist and when she is done my dentist comes in to check her work and sign off.

I hope this helps, but better still, call the facility where you had your eyes checked to settle your mind.

I wanted to share this w/you. I posted what happened to me on two sites where people are looking for opthamologists... maybe that's why, but she called me at home. Her voice sounded rattled but she spent over
Twenty minutes on the phone w/me. Though she will continue to practice this, I did take off one of the
Postings... the other I added some positive notes. It was her ignoring my letter that made me even madder.
I think maybe she felt I was going to sue her. Well, that was not my intention. She didn't do anything
Illegal... well, maybe she did by no one telling me I would be seen by someone else... but still, I'm not the
Suing kind... and that was not my intention.

In many practices, there are several doctors, even if you have an appointment with one, others may often see you. And in many cases, an intern or assistant will see you first with the doctor following up.

I think your behavior, posting negative on a common practice is not excusable and you actually owe the doctor an apology and need to drop negative ratings off any public posts about her
