    Solve the equation, give your answer as a fraction in its lowest terms:
    2x - 5=7-6x

    We got -1/3 but that seems wrong!?

    Could you show us what you did?

    In doing so, you will either spot where you did your mistake or we'll show you the step(s) you did the mistake(s)

    Thanks. I've spotted a few errors when writing the steps out. I've had a go at some other ways and this is what I've come up with, which I judge to be sensible since justice 1872 had same answer.:

    First I add 6x and 5 to both sides. Which gives

    8x = 12

    then I divide both sides by 8.

    which means x = 1.5 or 1/1/2.

    2x-5 = 7-6x

    2x+6x = 7+5

    8x = 12

    x = 12/8
    x = 1 4/8 = 1 1/2
