    Ask for their licenses... Can you tell by that if they're crooks?? No, you can't.

    If they are a business by checking to see if the business is req. and see how long it has been req. check any references they give, check their business address and contact details. etc. I hope this is helpful (tick the box)

    Business license, check for references, in US better business listings.

    But even then, I did business with a construction company, they had business license, a average BBB record, and insurance. Guess what, they ran off with 2000 of my money a few months ago. ** along with 100's of other peoples money
