    I was in US from June 1 st 2010 to 31st July 2010 on L1 . I need to file tax return.
    Can I get refund ? Is it possible to file online ?

    I assume that your salary was from a U.S.-source, which is why you must file a tax return.

    You will file as a non-resident alien, filing Form 1040NR and Form 2106 to claim daily living expenses (food, local transportation costs, travel costs. Tent and incidental expenses) as itemized deductions.

    Form 1040NR CANNOT be filed on-line; it MUST be mailed. However, the state return MAY be efiled if the state allows it for a foreign address or for a part-year return.
