Well, you typed the wrong compound... =/

Calcium carbonate is CaCO3 and carbon dioxide is CO2. Capital letters and small letters are important in chemistry when it comes to symbols.

    1. Check that your equation is balanced.
    2. Work out the mole ratio between the number of moles of CaO produced and the number of moles of CO2 produced.
    3. Find how many moles of CaO there are in 500 g of CaO.
    4. Hence, work out the number of moles of CO2, using your answer to 2. and 3.

What volume of CO2 is produced when 2g of CuCO3 is heated with a bunsen burner? [ 3 Answers ]

Hey, I worked this out by adding up the molar mass of CuCO3 = 123.54 g/mol-3. Then divide the mass 2g by molar mass to give me the number of moles 0.0162. Is this correct? I think I am along the right lines but I'm not sure, any help would be great, thank you :)

okay, here is the question: in the chemical reaction CaCO3=CaO+CO2, if 40.0g of CaCO3 is decomposed, how many grams of CaO are produced? Also, where did "the rest" of the mass go anyway? I'm kind of confused on this question any leads would help. Thanks.
