How old is my gold ring? It has 'GAE 9 375 (a sideways anchor) 2' stamped inside.
I have a ring that was passed down to me, just hoping to find out how old it is. Although the pattern on the outside is fading slightly, the stamp is still very clear it has 'GAE 9 375 (sideways anchor) 2'
    Any ideas?

    Hi there,
Your ring is 1965 and the anchor means it was assayed by birmingham. The GAE is probably the makers mark for who I don't know but a bit of investigation and googling, the answer should be found. The 9 mark and the 375 is the hallmark for 9 carat gold. Hope this helps.
    Regards Jackie
