    "no disc" message
    Hi,
    Wondering if anyone can help, when I insert a disc into my DVD it tries to read it then the message "No disc" appears.
    Any ideas you clever people out there in cyberspace ?

    Have you tried reinstalling the drivers ?

    Restart the computer and try to boot from a bootable disk. If it boots then there must be something wrong with your windows or other software interfearing.
    Although the chances are that you have to buy a new one..

    This is not a computer he/she is asking about but rather a DVD player.

    Is the DVD a commercial DVD or one burnt on a computer?

    (1) DVD disc could be dirty (fingerprints)/scratched.

    (2) Have you put in the correct Region DVD.

    (3) Have you tried using a DVD disc cleaner.

    (4) If it's a Burnt DVD, what Format did you burn it as.
