    1) DSL wall jack to DSL modem
    2) DSL modem CAT5 cable to router

    If router is a router, must put cable into INPUT port, perhaps port 1?

    If router is actually a switch, cable can go into any port.

    3) Cat5 cable from another router port to network port on laptop.
