My guess is that he used a wooden bat instead of an aluminum bat to prevent scratching the frame of the TV.

I think it may be a Plastic Bat.

    Strat,

I umpire HS Baseball, HS Girls Fastpitch Softball and Adult Slowpitch (Men and Co-ed).

I can recognise the sound a bat makes when it hits something.

Can't see it, but I can hear it. What's that, I can't hear you, wait till I get my glasses! :)

Donf, you think it a wooden bat, can't say for sure?
If I hit the TV with a wood bat as he was, I don't think the TV would ever work.

    Strar,

Yes, I think it's a wooden bat, not that it matters.

It just does not have the hollow sound that a plastic bat would have.
