    calculate cubic ft of a hexagon sand box 7' x 8' x 12
    I have a sandbox 12 inches high. It's a hexagon 7' x 8'. Im trying to figure the amount of cubic feet of sand that I will need.

    Hi Rmastroleo...

    For a square:

    You need to convert the 12 inches to 1 foot

    Then you simply multiply 1ft x 7ft x8ft = 56 cubic feet

    Answer is 56 cubic feet (for a square box).

    For a hexagon I would need the length of each side to tell you more...

Sand Filter is blowing out sand into my pool [ 3 Answers ]

Lately when I backwash my above ground pool, the filter blows out sand into the water. What causes this? When backwashing the filter, I turn off the pump, turn the dial to backwash and turn the pump on low. Is the pump supposed to be on during the backwash and rinse cycle?
