    What is this Larvae/worm??
    Hello,

I found this small larvae/worm in aged horse manure "compost". It's white with brown markings/rings and a brownish head. It's about .5 - 1" long. Pictures attached.

If anyone can please tell me what I'm looking at, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

This is a little outside the Entomology topic, but could it be a whiteworm?

I don't think so. I actually did some more research and I believe it may be the larvae of the Stiletto Fly (Insecta: Diptera: Asiloidea:Therevidae).

If this doesn't fall under Entomology then I apologize, and ask if someone could point me in the right direction?

No, my comment was that my suggestion was outside of entomology. No apology needed. That does indeed look like a stiletto baby.

    Ok. Got you.

To verify whether my assumption was correct, I stuck the larvae into a sealed terrarium and waited a couple days. This morning when checking, I saw the shell of the larvae on the "earth" and flying around was the stiletto.
