    Frostwire Bug?
I am in desperate need of assistance.
I came home last night to find some very questionable videos downloading via frostwire.
I assumed at first it was my fiancé, who lives with me, but he'd been at work all day and no one else other than the two of us has access to the computer.
I took it to my dad's who found that these downloads have been going on for several months now and that all these videos were in my recycle bin, which was hidden.
I was not even aware that I had frostwire on my computer and my fiancé swears up and down that he didn't either.
I've been with him for 5 years and I know him better, or so I hope, but if things don't get figured out soon, our future together may be in jeopardy...
... so I ask, is it possible for some virus, or worm, or whatever else to get on my computer and do things like downloading?

    Please hurry...

AMHD will not offer any assistance with any P2P applications due to copyright and piracy issues.

Best thing to do would be to completely remove this application as it is riddled with malware.

It's absolutely possible that your PC has been compromised and it's very common when using file sharing clients. If you don't know the person sharing the file, you can never be sure the file is safe. Although I'm a little surprised to hear it's just downloading videos. That sounds a little strange. I could see it trying to track bank details or something like that but why download videos? What would the virus writer have to gain? It could be a virus but it also could be someone using your computer when they shouldn't be.

Anyway, first thing first is to get your computer safe & clean. If you don't have a virus program installed, get one installed now. I recommend either Avast (http://www.avast.com/index) or AVG (http://free.avg.com/gb-en/homepage). Both are free and very good. As well as that you may want to get some malware removal tools such as Ad-Aware (http://www.lavasoft.com/?domain=lavasoftusa.com) or Spybot:Search & Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/index2.html). Both of those are also free and very good. Install & run them and let them run all the way through. It will take a while but it's worth it.

But the only way to be totally safe is to stop using file sharing programs like FrostWire. These kind of programs are always crammed full of viruses and it's very easy to get your computer infected without much effort.

Remember KaZaA? I loved that thing. There's nothing like it I can find. Well there's Frostwire, but I get annoyed at how there are fakers in there that just repeat exactly what I say and try guessing at other details I might be lured by. In fact there's almost nothing but porn on there. ...
