Hi,

I'm trying to remember the name of a futuristic sport movie which I think is from the 80s. I saw it on TV when I was a kid in the mid 90s and would like to see it again.

As mentioned, I was very young when I saw it so the details are pretty foggy, although I do remember;
- it was a 2 man competition in an arena
- the reigning champion (our protagonist) gets mentored by an old man
- the old guy teaches him how to slow down time
- it is later revealed that said old man is actually not very old, but using this method of slowing down time has aged him prematurely

I know it's rather vague, but if anyone knows the answer, or at least has a suggestion it would be greatly appreciated.
