    Sounds like you need to replace the drive belts

    If the 826 is of late ‘70’s or early ‘80’s vintage, it likely is a chain problem. Remove the cover beneath the motor, on the back. You will soon see if the chain is broken.

    maybe it is the sparkplug or carb?
