If I wrote a quote without saying who wrote it would that be plagiarism?

As long as you mark it as a quote, it isn't plagiarism. Some quotations are so well known they do not need attribution. e.g. "This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship." is known the world over as the last line of Casablanca.

Edited to add: If your quote is not that well known, you could lose points, but it's not plagiarism.

I'm not sure but I just wanted to add that quote because it goes with the theme of a book.

You can Google the lyrics and attribute the lyricist.

    Hi, surferforlife!

I just want to add, that as long as you don't attribute it to being written by you, it's also not plagiarism.

    Thanks!
