I read it before I had posted, sweet Joe, and know whereof I speak (I do my homework). It was a decision of the Council of Nicea and the Church Fathers, not from Bible verses.

I'm glad you went farther than others to show that James was also talking about saving the soul.

Wondergirl,
It was a part of the point to me and always will be for I do believe that the saving ones soul is very important.

Sinful man can not forgive sin. Sin is forgiven only by: If you confess wwith your mouth the Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. This is a one time activity and not needed upon ones death bed.

I live in California and would like to know if there's a legal way to give up parental rites to a child to its mother. Both the mother and I agree its in the best interest of the child. She wants no part of me in her's or the child's life and I will not pursue her or the child.
