How do I put an actual picture into the body of an e-mail?
I'm trying to put together a nice advertisement e-mail, but I don't really know what I'm doing. How do I go about putting actual pictures into the body of my composition rather than just having the attachment link at the top? I know it can be done, because I get those stupid chain e-mails and spam ads all the time. I've tried using the omage tags with photobucket, and it just e-mails the link... is there something simple I'm missing or what??

Your confusing yourself. What your seeing is not a reguler email. It is in fact an html document with the pictures embeded into it. There is a difference between the two. That's why one keeps showing as a link and the other does not.

O.k. when I e-mail the html code to myself, this is what I get

    <a href="http://s486.photobucket.com/albums/rr230/bluechipperphotos/?action=view&current=100_1223.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/rr230/bluechipperphotos/100_1223.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

    No picture...

I can paste this on this forum, and it'll post the image itself

I leave a [ out in the beginning so you can see what I pasted
    IMG]http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/rr230/bluechipperphotos/100_1223.jpg[/IMG]

I think I'm confusing you too, because no matter what I paste into my e-mail all I get is an e-mail full of code... I haven't e-mailed a picture yet Unless it's just shown as an attachment on the top of the e-mail which you have to click on in order to open... I want the picture to be visible in my e-mail

But you an embed your image:

In the middle of text here.

So, conceiveably it should be possible to send images when the email is in html?

It has been a while hasn't it. Its been a really long couple of years for me. I went through a divorce, and since then have re-united with my high school sweetheart, married her, and am expecting my 3rd daughter, along with helping to raise her son... whom I am considering adopting.

I'm working on sending out some e-mails to past and prospective clients. I'll check out the links you provided for me KISS, I appreciate your help.

Good luck. I never thought about it, but it does seem like a cool idea to compose in html. Just don't have the need.

Many of the email clients in your recipients may not display HTML mail as you designed it for security reasons. I found a good website with tips and tricks: How to Create and Send HTML Email
