Any good ground beef recipes out there?
Other than burgers what can you make with ground beef?

I'm hosting a bunch of carnivores tonight [there'll be a total of 8 people] and I don't know what to do with my 8LBS of ground beef I bought today at the grocers.

It's not formal so it could be a huge taco salad? Haha! Any recipe that YOU'VE actually tried and worked out well would be fantastic! I've been looking at Google links but I really wouldn't know how it would taste-- I'm afraid to just get a recipe and then people are like "Sarah this tastes like crap".

Thanks for the help, and remember stuff you've tried.

It would also help if you could pick out a wine or drink that would go good with the meal.

    Thanks again!

    I love my savoury beef.

I just cook the ground beef in a frying pan.
Add a good amount of tomato sauce (ok, a LOT of tomato sauce)
You can add some finely chopped vegetables (not too chunky)
Taco seasoning if you like a bit of spice.
And finally once it's all cooked add some plain flour to the pan to thicken up the sauce.

Best served with a great pile of mashed potato.

Well I'm making potato skins tonight, would that "go" with it?

    So far I have:

    -Potato Skins
-something to do with ground beef
    -Salad
    -Cheese Macaroni
    -Steamed Veggies
And then tofu and stuff for me...

I want to drink wine with my food but I'm not a wine expert:rolleyes:

Knowing me I'll end up drinking Pepsi.. or Coke.

    Man.. I'm getting hungry now.

Ground Beef Stroganoff: 1 lb. browned beef (with sliced onions, optional) + 1 can cream of mushroom soup + 1/2 soup can of water. Simmer for 15 minutes. Add 1/3 c. sour cream + dash of Gravy Master to darken, if desired. Stir. Serve over rice or noodles.

Meatloaf: 1 lb. ground beef + 1 slice of bread that has soaked for at least 5 minutes. In 1/3 c. milk + 1 egg + 1/2 c. ketchup + 1 sm. Onion, grated or chopped + 1 tbsp. grated dill pickle. With clean hands, vigorously mix all ingredients together and put into loaf pan. Spread ketchup over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

I'm a little late, you are already eating or done:rolleyes: but next time this is great

    Blue cheese beef casserole

Brown 1 lb ground beef and 2 cloves chopped garlic.. discard grease

Add 3 cups milk and 2 TBLS flour (flour first for easy mixing)
    Stir until thickened

Remove from heat and add some chopped bell pepper and pimiento (if you have it) it's good even with out the pimiento.. it's not like everyone has pimiento in their cub boards.

Salt, pepper and cooked egg noodles 3 cups or more. It works really good with the curly type, not fussili though.

Mix in blue cheese, I do about 1/2 cup (but I love blue cheese)

    Top with drizzled BBQ sauce.

    This is to die for:D
