I know you can do it a page at a time. Use the free program IrfanView - Official Homepage - one of the most popular viewers worldwide WITH ALL OF THE ADD-INS and convert the .pdf pages to jpg's.

    Insert the jpgs

I panic when it says "are you SURE you want to do...?" Should I (panic) or should I just download all the add-in/plug ins?

Download all the add-ins. Won't work without them.

Lots of cool stuff in the pack like EXIF data from camera's etc.

The installer should require you to download Ghostscript.

You can open the pdf and save it as a jpg with irfanview.
The tools will allow irfanview to open a .pdf file, otherwise the option won't be there.

Pay attention to names and use a working directory with a copy of the original file.

Open the page that you want. Then save as (use the jpg) format and save the pages as a new file. Like a1.jpg, a2.jpg, a3.jpg.

Powerpoint has an Insert picture option.

I just tried these steps and it works.

I didn't see any request for me to download Ghostscript. Should I unistall infranview and reistall to see if I missed the request?

    Flossie:

I attached a screen shot of the OPEN menu. When you say any documents, that's not enough. You should be able to open .jpg documents without ANY issues with the stock IRFANVIEW when you select "Common Graphic files" format.

You have to select "EPS/PS/PDF" to open PDF files.

Note that I have selected "EPS/PS/PDF - Post script files" which should be an available option to be able to open .PDF files.

We are not there yet, but under the View menu for Irfanview there is a Multipage Image option. It looks like it can extract the pages as separate jpgs.

Check to make sure you can "select EPS/PS/PDF" in the open dialog first.
If not download the plug-ins and run the resulting .exe.

OK... got that far. Had to install ghostscript separately as irfaview would not open the pdf. It now opens it :)
    Now... how do I convert??

I'm sorry but when it comes to this kind of stuff on the computer, I am useless. My brother-in-law usually does it all for me but their 20 yr old son is in hospital in a coma and I don't want to bug him.

I need to ask how long is your documents?

    Let's try just one page.

    Open a PDF document

Navigate to a page using the up and down arrows on the right of the screen. Page should update. Page 2/3 etc.

Save as .Jpg. Use a different name for each page. Like mydoc.p01.jpg, mydoc.p02.jpg

Go to Powerpoint and "Insert Image"

Let me know how large you documents are and I'll explore some easier options. Right now I have to take a shower.

    What's the but?

Is this a 1- page document or a 50 page document?

There may be a better way to do multi-page documents that I need to investigate.

There are(were)42 pages. I've edited a few out. I didn't really want the WHOLE page, just the photos that are on them. Is there any way to do just that?

    Why didn't you say so.

All you have to do is open the .pdf file in Irfanview
    Navigate to the page
Select the image. i.e Click on a corner and draw a box around it.
Edit Cut. And paste into PowerPoint.
Move it where you would like it to be.

You didn't even have to convert it to a .JPG.

You can also do it directly with the full version of Acrobat.
    Click the select tool.

Draw a box around the object. (Click/hold and move mouse to create selection)

    Cut.
    Paste into PowerPoint.
