Do I need a special tool to remove the belt off a '99 Ford Taurus?
I can not get at it with a socket, to close to the fender wall, do I need a special tool to remove the belt. I am needing to change the power steering pump.

Is it 1 long Serpintine Belt and has a spot for a 1/2" Drive socket? That releases pressure on the tensioner?
Or individual belts?

Do you have a place for a Half inch drive/extension and do you see a square hole near the tensioner?

On my 2000 Ford Taurus, with the 3.0L Duratec engine, I use a 15-inch breaker bar with a 1/2" x 3/8" adapter. It fits perfectly. If you have the Vulcan 3.0L OHV engine, try a 15mm box-end wrench on the idler pulley bolt. Many auto parts stores will lend you a serpentine belt wrench set, if necessary.

I got the socket, but with the A/C lines and insulation, along with the fender wall, I can not get the socket and wrench to go over the nut to use it. Make any sense?

Can you get a box-end wrench over it?
Once you install the new P/S Pump, refill the reservoir with Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF. The pump will be infinitely quieter and you likely will never need to replace it again. Plus, the steering is much better, particularly in winter.
