    A show EVERYONE should watch
Britain aired a show that explains all the ins, outs, whys, and wherefores of sex, sexual health, and sexual anatomy.

I think EVERYONE, regardless of age, race, religion, sexuality, or prior knowledge, should watch this show.

While everything is geared toward the british public, I think it's relevant worldwide. I'm sure there isn't much difference in the statistics between britain and any other developed country.

The lady that hosts it is funny and presents everything in a straight-forward and appealing way. There are images of full-frontal nudity, including close-ups on genitalia, but it's all done very tastefully and scientifically.

It's called 'The Sex Education Show.'

This link has links to the individual episodes on the side. I THINK they're only viewable in the UK, though.

This has links to megavideo, and should be viewable everywhere else.

the sex ed unit of the one semester health class all freshmen were required to take, lasted about 2-3 weeks. That's about 20-25 minutes of lecture 5 days a week. It didn't even cover a FRACTION of what's covered in one EPISODE of that show.

the only thing I really remember is the slideshow. Guys were taken to one room, girls to the other. We were shown a slideshow of std's, but only on genitalia of our gender.

it never made sense to me that us girls were shown slides of what std's looked like in women, which mostly involved pictures of the cervix (like we would EVER be able to see our own cervix), and not on men. Wouldn't they want us to be able to identify them on possible partners?

dahlia, who says the seniors don't need a brush-up on their sexual education? ^_~

It's not that, I was trying to be stealth and wasting time, wasn't sure if there was loud sounds or BIG pictures. It was really quiet where I was. I know some of them would have appreciated it and some would have kicked me out.

    They scare me:eek::D

I'll take a look tomorrow Heath, too tired tonight. I really should be in bed but I just took my stupid iron pill and I'm not allowed to lay down for 1/2 hour afterwards.

Don't know why, but it's the rules. ;)

Sounds like one of my classes long ago: mixed college students

Pass a bag around in the lab for the class and pull out without looking something and explain what it is to the class. Condoms, vibrators, the cervical ring among other stuff all came out of the bag.

Or, "Write down any question you would like the opposite sex to answer". They had to answer as a group without knowing who asked what question.

Or a Protestant minister, Jewish Rabbi and a Catholic Priest come to class and we get to ask them questions concerning their Churches on sexuality issues.

    Fun class.

The weird part of the class was that they were mostly all nursing majors, so nearly all female. About 240 females and a dozen males. 10 of the males sat in the same row next to one another. I didn't. Really odd.

OK, not sure I could handle a class that big.

I went to a very small college for the first three years. It was rare to have a class with more than 20 students. It was also about 95%/+ female, so it was not uncommon to go an entire semester without having a guy in any of your classes. If there was more than one guy in the class, it was usually because they were friends who scheduled that class together on purpose. You very quickly learned the names off most, if not all, the guys you ever had the remotest chance of having a class with.

In the art department, I think there were 2, MAYBE 3, guys majoring the entire 3 years I was there. Both of them started college with me. One of them either dropped out or transferred after the first year. It was usually him, and maybe another guy taking the class as an elective, as the only guy in the art classes.

There was an older guy in my drawing class that was taking it just for fun. He quit as soon as he found out the class involved life drawing and he would be required to draw a naked man.
