I had a varicocele, I do no whether to leave as such or to make a surgery, please give the details about it

Hello Prathika,

In many cases Varicocele causes no problems and therefore treatment may not be necessary.

Sometimes Varicocele can cause pain, atrophy (shrinkage) and/or can affect fertility.

If treatent is needed surgery can be performed under a general anesthesic,

However in the US and probably in other countries treatment is very often performed without a general anesthesic.

This is called 'Varicocele embolization'

Varicocele embolization is a preferred method as it is quickly performed, the recovery time if far less than normal surgery and there is much less chance of infection.
