    Why study abroad?
I am perusing my Bachelor of Engineering (India) and will be finishing off this July. Years back, I was very excited to go abroad and study MS in Engg. But, as the time passed, the interest and excitement seemed to have faded and fading. I am expecting answers from some professionals working/living in USA/UK to answer my question and help me take the biggest decision of my life.
    Thanks in advance.

I am a junior who is participating in a Study Abroad program for my senior year. I am from the USA, and am planning to study in Germany. I actually already participated in a Student Exchange as a sophomore, in which I spent a month in Munich, Germany.
I am hardly an expert, however I can tell you what I know. Studying abroad, besides looking great on paper, is a great experience. You probably already understand that you have the opportunity to immerse yourself in a new culture and way of life.
One of the things that impresses me so much about Gandhi, is that he also studied and worked abroad. The fact that he studied in England and worked in Africa played a huge part in his life and who he later became.
I do not mean to offend you in regards to your saying you are from India, but Gandhi is the example I think of most when I talk about studying in foreign countries.
    I hope this helps,
    DD
