"Weekly Reader" book of ghost stories
When I was in 5th or 6th grade (1980/1981), I bought a Weekly Reader book which was a short collection of true stories, approximately 12 stories and around 100 pages long. The back cover contained a warning to not read when home alone because the stories were so scary. Two of the titles I remember were "The Walking Ottoman" and "The Housewarming". My little sister was terrified of this book and eventually was able to blackmail me into throwing it away! Please, does anyone know the title and author, and where I can get this book?

The only thing I could find and I have searched for a while are books by Alvin Shwarzt called Scary Stories to Read in The dark and there are a few more. Go to Amazon and browse ghost
And scary stories for kids. Hope this helps.
