    Follow the leader
According to Tom Friedman, writing for the NY Slimes ,the elites of the world at Davos are concerned about the "political instability " in the United States . The source of this concern is that we refuse to do the President's bidding.
Political instability” was a phrase normally reserved for countries like Russia or Iran or Honduras. But now, an American businessman here remarked to me, “people ask me about 'political instability' in the U.S. We've become unpredictable to the world...

You can understand why foreigners are uneasy. They look at America and see a president elected by a solid majority, coming into office riding a wave of optimism, controlling both the House and the Senate. Yet, a year later, he can't win passage of his top legislative priority: health care.
    Op-Ed Columnist - Never Heard That Before - NYTimes.com

They evidently would prefer that the US adopt the Chinese Communist model that...
Under the umbrella of a one-party state, with a lot of government guidance, strictly controlled capital markets and an authoritarian decision-making process that is capable of making tough choices and long-term investments, without having to heed daily public polls.
... could break the deadlock the Obama Administration faces.

If he isn't in favor of instituting a Chicom model Friedman comes awefully close to it.The problem is that would not be acceptable phrasing ;so he calls it a “Confucian-Communist-Capitalist” hybrid under the umbrella of a one-party state, with a lot of government guidance, strictly controlled capital markets and an authoritarian decision-making process that is capable of making tough choices and long-term investments, without having to heed daily public polls..

According to Friedman ;all of this deadlock could be avoided if there were only a few more RINO's who would sign on to the Obama agenda.

He's not alone . Also in the Slimes Frank Rich accused John McCain of being unpatriotic for opposing the President's agenda.
If Reid can serve as the face of Democratic fecklessness in the Senate, then John McCain epitomizes the unpatriotic opposition.

"If there were just six or eight Republican senators — a few more Judd Greggs and Lindsey Grahams — ready to meet Obama somewhere in the middle..."

But where is the middle? I see no evidence that Obama or the rest of the Democratic leadership got any message whatsoever from recent elections. Obama is going to fight, fight, fight.

On health care reform Pelosi said, "we will go through the gate. If the gate is closed, we will go over the fence. If the fence is too high, we will pole vault in. If that doesn't work, we will parachute in. But we are going to get health care reform passed for the American people for their own personal health and economic security and for the important role that it will play in reducing the deficit."

Looks to me like they're already dug in on governing without heeding daily public polls, because they still think we just don't get it. We just don't know what's good for us.

Obama isn't the King... nor is he some Messiah like a few leftists believe, and he certainly isn't above being criticized, or second guessed.

Funny how many of those same people who cry about people exercising their first amendment rights to disagree with Obamas agenda... were the very same people doing exactly that under George W Bush.

I actually have greater respect for the National Enquirer than I do the New York Times... or the Washington Post.

PRAVDA is alive and well, doing business under the New York Times and Washington Post names. Propaganda outlets pretending to be newspapers.

This isn't North Korea... and I don't worship elected leaders.

You should read Mark Steyn's latest column.

Obama and the Democrats have decided, in the current cliché, to “double down.” That hardly does justice to what the president’s doing. In effect, he’s told embattled congressmen and senators to strap on the old suicide-bomber belt and self-detonate for the team this November.

That’s a lot of virgins to pass out, but with this administration, budget restraints aren’t exactly a problem: Untold pleasures will await every sacrificial incumbent in paradise, or at any rate the coming liberal utopia. What’s the end game here? President Obama gave it away in his student-loan “reform” proposals: If you choose to go into “public service,” any college-loan debts will be forgiven after ten years.

Because “public service” is more noble than the selfish, money-grubbing private sector. C’mon, everybody knows that. So we need to encourage more people to go into “public service.”

    Why?

In the last 60 years, the size of America’s state and local workforce has increased five times faster than the general population. But the president says it’s still not enough: We have to incentivize even further the diversion of our human capital into the government machine. Like most lifelong politicians, Barack Obama has never created, manufactured, or marketed any product other than himself. So quite reasonably he sees government dependency as the natural order of things. And in his college-loan plan he’s explicitly telling you: If you start a business, invent something, provide a service, you’re a schmuck and a loser. In the America he’s building, you’ll be working 24/7 till you drop dead to fund an ever-swollen bureaucracy that takes six weeks off a year and retires at 53 on a pension you could never dream of. Obama’s proposals are bold only insofar as few men would offer such a transparent guarantee of disaster: It’s the audacity of hopelessness.
And on that note, his permanent campaign machine is recruiting high school students to "build on the movement that elected President Obama by empowering students across the country to help us bring about our agenda."

Here's a couple of pages from his recruitment kit:

Yeah, he wants to suck the life out of high school students and turn them into little Obama radicals. What if Bush had done that?

I shouldn't say so, but this does sound a bit like the youth programs of Soviet Russia and Hitler's Germany.

He's been prepping them for almost a year already. All those dutiful professionals from the teacher's union ranks instructing the children on how to sing praise to the fearless leader. The word is that the President and Congress plan to expand the authority and mandate of the Sec Education . (H.R. 3221 ) to establish a Federal curriculum. The Sec will be provided $500 million to distribute to any entity he deems “appropriate” to develop and disseminate free and “freely available” online courses.
Since States and locals run the education system in the country ;and there is no real constitutional mandate for the Federal Government to do so;the money will become available to States and locals that comply to what will become a national education standard.

The bill also effectively takes over the student loan industry . Since the bill gives the Federal government the authority to determine who gets loans and grants ;the Federal Government will also be in a position to give such loans only to students who graduate under the national standards and national curriculum. .

This bill already passed the House vote in September .

I wonder what brand of koolaid he is using ? Sure seems effective. If this keeps going at this rate this country will be gone BEFORE the next election process. And its sad how many videos are being made of dumb americans that can't answer basic questions about our government or their representatives.

Yes that was probably caused by the no child left behind program, people really do want to know if any were left behind and guess what they found, most were left right out. Don't worry about your country going to the dogs, it has happened to many of us, it's sought of payback for trying to export your culture

Professor Fouad Ajami of the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies penned an op-ed in the WSJ this week stating what has been obvious for some time . The koolaid high does not last forever.
Ajami: The Obama Spell Is Broken - WSJ.com

He says that the Obama supporters in 2008 were seeking a redeemer ,and that Obama calculated that playing that angle in the campaign was the better option than running on his razor thin resume.

But that put the President into a role similar to the Wizard of Oz . The man behind the curtain could never live up to the hype . He let his supporters define him and now he cannot live up to their expectations.

"The emperor is not wearing any clothes", said the child. Well, well, well: "Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman said during a hastily called news conference that Obama is no friend to Las Vegas and would not be welcomed here if he visits.

'I'll do everything I can to give him the boot,' Goodman said.'
'This president is a real slow learner.'"

This thought has been expressed in these threads before.

What if crew Obama have the INTENTION of destroying this country via the economic route so that they can declare the Constitution dead and establish some form of Socialism (Communism without the mistakes made in Russia?)

There are Judas goats and lemmings among us. Let's pray that they are a small enough minority that we will retain some semblance of a republic.

Keep in mind that FDR had a much, much larger mandate than Obama; of course, FDR had a much larger task than Obama as well, setting up the apparatus of state socialism. I believe the republic will survive these fanatics; the results of Obama-nation are evident in the current elections, the polls, and we just need to get to November. We can get the pitchforks out now, if necessary.
