Dividend paid out from previous & current yr profit.
If the div of 100 pay out partial from previous yr profit + current yr profit... (eg.previous yr retained earning 50 + current yr profit 50 ) where shld I made the entry for DR side... if made in P&L current yr the profit just show 50 only... is it another 50 deduct from balance sheet retained earning 50.

You can debit the balance sheet (retained earning account ) by 50 and pnl by 50 and credit the divedent payable account.. this is the direct entry

If you want you can also first debit pnl and credit retained earning the you balance at retained earning would be 100 and then once again debit retained earning and credit dividend payable
