Preparations for the Ares I-X launch continue on schedule, heading toward an 8 a.m. EDT liftoff tomorrow.

Hi! Unky,
No, this inaugural flight of the rocket system will be sub-orbital.

The flight of Ares I-X is designed to simulate the first two minutes of Ares I flight. A broad range of performance data
will be relayed to the ground and stored in the onboard flight data recorder. The solid rocket motor will separate and will be
recovered at sea for later inspection. The simulated upper stage and Orion’s crew module and launch abort system will not be recovered.

Launch in T -00:51:00 minutes, and counting.

Launch time in Mauritius, 4:00:00pm

Launch has been placed on hold at T-00:04:00 because testing of launch systems has taken longer than expected.

Countdown is to resume at 08:25:00am edt, for planned launch at 08:29:00am edt

Countdown remains on hold at T-00:04:00
Countdown is to resume at 09:20:00am edt, for planned launch at 09:24:00am edt

Rain is approaching the launch site, and should arrive at 09:50:00am edt.
Any further delay from the 09:24:00am launch, will involve a weather assessment.

This will be the last update until Countdown resumes.

Weather conditions at the Cape has aborted launch at 11:22:36am edt

Next window of opportunity to be determined, and announced at press conference to be held later today.

After being stymied by the weather, and an errant freighter cruising through the impact zone, the Aries launch team will try again starting at 08:00:00am edt tomorrow. Launch window remains at 4 hours, closing at 12 noon edt.

Hi unky, you'll have to mentally file any Cape Canaveral launch as being 8hrs behind you.

The 11:30:08 AM EDT, Wed, 28 Oct 2009 launch translates into

19:30:08 PM EDT, Wed, 28 Oct 2009 or 7:30:08pm in Port Louis, Mauritius.
Approximately 52minutes before your post.

Ok, so your time is like Stringer's and Alty's, 8 hours... I got it! I thought that you were more in the West of the US.

Hey by the way, what's Pa?

I know of LA (Los Angeles), CAL (for California), but Pa? That can't be Pacific :p

Pa, short for Pennsylvania, stands for "Penns Woods"

Now, Stringer has Central time which is 1 more hour so 9 for now, and 10 when Standard comes in on Sumday morning and Alty's, I believe is Canadian Mountain time, she is 10 and will change to 11 Sunday morning.

"intriguing substances" could mean anything from organism fossils to Superman's poop.
