Handmade Halloween Costumes
Hi there,
I've decided that I want to make my family's Halloween costumes this year. I've already decided and begun mine. But I still need an idea for my 9-year-old stepdaughter and for my Boyfriend.
Any suggestions would be great, I love crafting but my abilities are a bit low. I can cross-stitch, crochet, hand knit, and kind of sew.
Thanks in advance!

For your boyfriend, you could make a Freddy Krueger costume with ease- it's basically just about making the jumper, buying (or making) the hat and buying the claw and mask.
For the stepdaughter, nothing famous springs to mind. You could always ask her what she likes (I have no idea what 9 year old girls want from a Halloween costume)

I think we've decided on what we're doing for her. She wants to be a stripey princess, so we are buying striped toe socks and making a skirt to match and making the crown and stick thingy (? )

Wow! How are you going to make the tail feathers?
Is your stepdaughter into animals of any kind?
Thanks!

Nope, I'm buying the tail feathers and making a skirt of them. She's into EVERY animal.

How about a tigress costume or other type of animal costume for your stepdaughter where the fur might have a lot of designs on it as well as the animal having a long tail?
Also, are these costumes going to be surprises for them?
Thanks!

I would really appreciate seeing some images of the costumes that you've made Momma, once you're done making them, if you wouldn't mind posting some images.
Thanks!
