Oh no, no. I spelled it wrong. I meant to say tretinoin which is the generic brand for retin-a but cost much less.

Weezing I have seen that site a couple of times before so let us know if it is legit if you order there.

Sagluva is the black soap you are using soft and brown? If not and it is hard and jet black then it isn't real black soap. I had a bad reaction with the fake "black" soap beacause it was too harsh, artificial, and had black dye in it. But genuine black soap from West Africa is very good with clearing acne and blemishes, I purchased some from the flea market recently. Also, You may think of trying Likas papaya soap or the Diana Stalder papaya kojic soap. The papain (the enzyme from papaya) and papaya is also rich in vitamin A and C, this had helped clear my acne before I switched to black soap, as black soap is milder.

Hey Golden Girl. Sorry it's been taking me so long to reply, I don't frequent this board as much now that I've started school. But my mom's original skin color is hard to describe. Because everyone on her side of the family has an orangish/yellowish undertone. So it's like that have the undertones of mixed people. But their skin color is a Medium-Dark 3. That's what she started at and now she's at a Light-4. But she's used soooo many different products. But now it's like she doesn't really have to do much to stay light. If she gets dark in the summer the darkest she gets is like a Light-2.

And I am between a medium light 2 and a medium light 3. I do not wish to get into the lightest range. I don't think it would look good on me. And seeing how my original goal was to get from a dark 2/3 to a medium dark-3. I'm very content and happy with my results. Maybe a shade lighter. But nothing too dramatic. I feel beautiful. :) It's a good feeling.

I surprised myself this morning. I don't know if any of you all are guilty of this... But I am. Whenever I see another woman who is my race in the bathroom or in a store. I purposely stand next to her in the mirror. And act like I'm checking out my hair. But I just want to compare skin colors. My mind is so warped that sometimes I still feel like I'm not light enough. But this morning I stood next to a girl who is a medium dark- 1 and I was soooooo surprised at how much lighter than her I was. I couldn't believe I had made THAT much progress!

That's great that you have successfully reached your goal and maintaining is like the cherry on top, cheers to you. I think it is only natural to compare shades some how when lightening because we want to see and compare our progress, whether it is with people or with makeup. When I had lightened at my lightest, I had kept my old shade of foundation although I very rarely use it. But when I had did a patch test, it was a big difference. So, earlier this year I went to Sophora to get a "makeover" and see what shade the makeup specialist would apply to my skin and he even gave me a sample to take home. I was very surprised as the shade was much lighter than my original.

Actually the make up issue can be a difficult one, when you are lightening. I find that I have lighter days and darker days and as I wear concealer for my dark circles it can take ages to get to the right tone, without it looking wrong. I have a few concealers in varying shades to help. I am just grateful I don't wear foundation as that would be a whole other issue.

Hi ladies and gents! I'm a lurker here and I've been on so many boards trying to find something successful without much success : / . I have been using surewhite for the past six months with little success. Sometimes I'm bright and sometimes I'm not. I'm definitely going to be trying this cristalline!

My only question is:have you successfully lightened your hands? This question is for Browndeceit since she has reached her goal but I would like to hear from anyone. Cause this is what terrifies me the most:light body and scary dark hands. That is a telltale sign of skin bleaching. Thank u!

Well, not to tell you not to bleach your hands, but if it makes you feel any better, my grandmother is very fair skinned and her hands are about 3 shades darker than her. No one thinks shes's bleaching because of it. (shes not) My mom is the same way.(and she's not either) Its just the part of her body that gets the most sun, therefore its darker. But I feel you though. You just want everything to be even. I too am sitting in this boat.
