This is some highly specific technical info. Didn't you get a study guide, text books or manuals?

    This is really odd.

You are taking a test, but have had no class.

You have a manual, but does not give a training lesson, therefore no answers?

    What does this mean:
may i ask a question if you would accept to get this manual from me ?

I would think you have had some sort of training to be able to answer these questions.

If not, not sure I would want you working on any of my exercise equipment.

LOL, as if I would own one of these.

    A) He has the manual/book but cannot figure it out. He wants to sent it to me/us so we can figure it out.

    B) He is not in the US, or is "ESL", and writes with an accent.

Just think, after your done helping him learn how to work on these things, you will be qualified, also if he passes his test!

You, I will let work on my treadmill, if I owned one.

    Good luck.

    1) After calibrating high speed in calibration mode. How do you stop the belt from moving?
    a) Remove the safety key
    b) Press Stop
    c) Press Speed up
    d) Press Incline down
c&c are probably stupid answers. A will stop everything, so b is probably the correct answer.

    2) What is the connector labeled on the power board for the speed control wires, that connect the power board to the controller.
    a) Incline Sense
    b) Reed Snsr
    c) HWL
    d) Earth Gnd
A is the incline, nothing to do with speed, d) is a stupid answer. Could be HWL or Reed Sensor. Since Reed and hall sensors measure frquency, therefore my best guess is b.

    3) What two buttons are typically pressed while inserting the safety key to enter the calibration mode of a treadmill console?
    a) Speed up and Incline
    b) Speed up and Stop
    c) Speed down and Incline down
    d) Speed up and Incline up
Too specific, but you wouldn't want someone to enter that mode accidentally, so b is the best answer by purely guessing.

    4) What are the two types of motor controller?
    a) PWM and SST
    b) SST and PRT
    c) PRT and SCR
    d) PWM and SCR
PWM is Pulse Width Modulated and it is a method of speed control, therefore a and d are possible answers. SCR or Solid State Relay offers yet another speed control variation, thus best answer is d.

    5) How many troubleshooting LED's does the MC-60 motor controller have?
    a) Three
    b) Four
    c) Five
    d) Six
    Too specific.

    6) Why is a choke wired between the motor and motor controller
    a) To reduce the amount of ripple voltage
    b) To limit the maximum speed the motor can run
    c) To convert the voltage to the motor from AC volts to DC volts
    d) To provide DC voltage to the motor controller LED's
Chokes are inductors. Current through an inductor cannot change instantaineously. There are LC and L power supply filters, therfore the answer is a.

    7) Which of the following components is not included in a High Voltage Console Treadmill?
    a) Reed Switch
    b) Choke
    c) DC Motor
    d) Power Board
To specific, but probably a, based on Q8

    8) On a High Voltage Console Treadmill, what component controls AC voltage to the motor controller?
    a) Reed Switch
    b) An on/off switch where the power cord enters the treadmill
    c) A microswitch in the console where the safety key is inserted
    d) The Power Board
    Too specific

    9) What component inside the drive motor are the two BLUE wires attached to?
    a) Circuit Breaker
    b) Reed Switch wire
    c) Thermal Switch
    d) Speed Potentiometer
    No idea, too specific

    10) On aerobic products using generator resistance, when will the most resistance be felt by the user?
    a) When all relays to the windings are open
    b) When a single relay to the windings is closed
    c) When all the relays to the windings are closed
    d) When half of the relays to the windings are closed
Probably c. Generator field creates resistance. The more energizes the higher the field current.

    11) What is the input voltage at AC1 (L1) and AC2 (L2) on any motor controller?
    a) 10–12 VAC
    b) 10–12 VDC
    c) 110–120 VDC
    d) 110–120 VAC
Since AC1 and AC2 are AC, must be a or d. Since L1 and L2 usually refer to Line 1 and Line 2, then must be d.

    How did I do?

Ah, come on. Any one can pass the paper test. It's the face time with the customer, while your trying to get the repair finished and they are peppering you with useless questions.

I had a call, long time back on a unit that had bad power supply.

The woman was such a pest, that when she finally asked what was wrong I told her that there was an electron leak in the power supply. She became very concerned about damage to her desktop wood. I told her not to worry that I had already wiped the loose electrons up ands showed her the clean desk top.

When I returned with the part, she was there with her manager expressing concern about the desktop.

Go figure! Can anyone ever remember wiping up loose electrons that had leaked out of a power supply cage? :)

No, but I had to make a Faraday cup to catch them all without spilling.

It was in a Scanning electron Microscope and the Faraday cup measured the beam current.

After 6 hours of studying on this subject from technician guide last night, I figured out most of answers for questions besides 5-6 question. I'll post the technician guide for fitness equipments and tes questions that I couldn't answer here so, you guys can help me out

BTW, I'm an electronic engineer but this is not my expertise, second, yes English is my second language as you can notice easily :) third, I'm in U.S. but not have been living for a long time...

Thank you everybody who helped me...

I'm going to post manual here so

Actually, I figured out the answers about %90 percent but, I just want to make sure about the answers. Cause if I'm not sure about answers I may lose this job oppurtunity.

Questions that I doubt about their answers are 10,13,14,15,16,18,19,20,21,22,23,25

Because new members don't take the time to notice the dates on threads.

The website does not close old threads, use to I believe, but got too difficult to deal with as the site got more popular.

The new member apparently did not have much too offer.

    Thread is closed now.
