Referred to eye hospital due to eye pressure - is this serious?
Three years ago I was sent to eye hospital following routine eye examination as they found a lump behind the eye - after many tests I was given all clear. I have just had a new eye examination and again have been referred to the eye hospital for the pressure in my eye. What does this mean and is it something serious? The optician did mention glaucoma? Can someone kindly advice me as I am worrying myself silly. Thanks

Glaucoma is actually eye pressure inside the eye, mammysprincess, it could be serious if you have underlying medical conditions that could contribute or hasten the condition. It is absolutely imperative that you ask questions of your doctor while undergoing this type of eye exam. Follow up on this so you may make informed decisions.

They are doing great new things these days.
Get referred to a RETINAL CLINIC.
See whether they are using the new
    Injections technique.
I have had my first of three already.
I am satisfied with what I see!

Sound advice. Eye pressure levels are measurements to diagnose glaucoma by, if they are higher there is more of a risk. You need to have YEARLY exams when you have a higher risk of Glaucoma.
