Well I know for sure you'd want to bring some materinity clothes that you can wear and be comfortable in after the baby is born.. *me personally I hate hospital gowns* some facecloths maybe... blanket for the baby. Toothbrush, hairbrush... underwear...
I wish I could add more but I do know those are some of the things my friend brought with her to the hospital when her baby was born.

We recommend that you bring anything you want. You can bring baby clothes, of course clothes to take baby home in!
You can bring your own night clothes if you like, but remember, you will be bleeding and you may soil your night clothes.
Other things... approved carseat, hairbrush, toothbrush and toothpaste, diaper bag.
At the hospital where I work everything is provided for baby while you are there, including diapers, wipes, t-shirts, blankets, etc.

One thing that hasn't been said... a camera :)
A journal or baby book might be a good idea as well so you can write down all those things that you might not remember after you leave the hospital.

I found it very nice to take my own shampoos, and scented body wash, it helped me relax and made me feel very good. Also I took a notebook and paper. Every time my nurse came in they asked what time the baby last breastfed and for how long and how many diapers. So I would just jot down breastfeeding times, and the time of diaper changes and hand them my notebook. Also I took snacks. The hospital I was at only supplied 3 meals a day... dinner at 4pm breakfast not until 8am, so the snacks helped out a bit. Good Luck to you!

Slippers are always good.
Sweat pants [to leave the hospital in]
Comfy PJ'S
Lots of underwear [you may bleed a little]
Nursing bra or breast pads [if your going to be breast feeding]
A book, a CD or an Ipod to pass the time during long labors [if you can concentrate that is ;)]
Lotion
Deodorant
Laundry bag to take the dirty clothes home
Warm socks
Video Camera
Diaper bag
A hat for the baby and a blanket
Water bottle
Makeup? To touch up for pictures
Insurance card and ID
Hair elastics!
Extra sweater
Your own comfy pillow
A razor?
Any medication...
Hmm that's all I can think of.
Good luck!

Congratulation's and good luck!

Pillows from home. While at the hospital, the comfort and smell of your own bed pillows is wonderful.
