How to handle Accident and Traffic tickets on private property
I was in an accident on private property, I changed lanes in an area beyong where orange barrels were set up for traffic flow and did not see the other party, they hit me. We had to wait some time while the county and city tried to figure out jurisdiction, we were the 1st accident on this roadway.
Our argument was she was going too fast (skid marks showed her movement), in front of a school. Ooked to change lanes, she was not there, moved over... bam! Officer told us the speed limit was 45, there is no speed limit posted anywhere on this private road that has not been deeded to the city yet. We were issued 2 tickets, failure to yield and expired tags.
    Thanks for the help.

Since you moved over it was more your fault because the person already in the lane has the right of way. They really don't take speed into too much consideration in accidents because you are suppose to have control of your car that it doesn't hit anybody in any circumstance.

The car in the main roadway always has the right of way. If you want to hire a forensics accident specialist to analyze the skid marks to determine whether she was going at an unsafe rate of speed to fight this ticket, go ahead.
