Hampton Bay Redington IV Ceiling fan Remote
I hate to sound like a broken record, but I looked all over for answers, didn't not find any.

I bought a ceiling fan/lighting with remote control

    Here's what I have:
At the house, I have 1 switch for fan, 1 for light

The Ceiling housing has a red wire, black wire, white wire, and bare wire.

The fan has a remote control aparatus, one side has black and a white (to go to the ceiling), the other side of the aparatus has blue, black, white, green(to go to the fan/lighting housing).

The actual fan/lighting housing has blue, black, white and green.

    What I did:

I hooked up the fan/lighting housing to the remote control aparatus.. easy, equal colors.

But when I go and follow directions about hooking up the other wires, no mention of the red wire from the ceiling!

So problem lies between the remote control apartus to the ceiling. I have an extra wire from the ceiling , the red wire. What /where do I hook this up?

What I want to work is both switchs from the wall, light and fan, and I want the remote to work also. My house is 2 years old, so no wiring problems to speak of.

You can't do that. You have one of two options:

    1. Control the fan with the remote, and either one or neither of the two wall switches
    2. Bypass the remote, and control the fan with both wall switches
