    As a Co-signer am I still resposible?
I co signed a 12 month lease for a friend. He failed to pay his rent the later portion of the lease. So I was hit up for it. I mailed them the payment covering till the end of the 12 months. I then received a letter from them stating that I needed to give a 60 day notice that I am going to vacate the premises otherwise I will be responsible for the rent through the 60 days. I mailed them the check at the beginning of July and I got a response saying that they received my payment and that since I did not mail them the notice on a certain date, then they will acknowledge my letter as of the 31th of July and I'm still responsible for 60days after the 31st of July 2009. I don't understand how that can be when I mailed them a letter at the beginning of August. I think I'm being Bamboozled!
