Hi, today I was out working in the yard while my 9 year old daughter and her girlfiend came into the house to get something to eat and watch music videos. Later, when I got on my computer, I looked at the history" and found that her and her friend had went to over 20 porn sites. When I confronted her on it she TOTALLY DENIED everything... I called in her friend and asked her, she said yes they were on my comp. but a pop up came up they clicked on it and then couldn't get it off... all of which was false as they did Google search and everything... HELP!! How do I handle this>>>>>>>>>>>>

P.S. I do have parental controls on my comp. but didn't sign out when I walked away from it.:confused:

Make sure you log off from now on. Kids will be curious. You really can't punish her other than maybe making stricter computer time rules.
You need to tell her/them that those sites are inappropriate to be looking up and that moms KNOW what's up and have ways of knowing when kids aren't being honest.

In my opinion, I think this is "normal"; she was just being curious-- but porn at 9 is very young.

The best thing to do now is to sit down and talk about what she saw and why she decided to Google it. Tell her that it's okay to be curious but those websites are for adults and not for children. Also tell her if she has questions about sex to ask you first and warn her about the dangers of the internet.

It's okay mom, it was just a slip up.

With children in the house, all computers should be in a public use area, I know with my 8 year old, computers used only in front room and I review screens.

Parent controls on all computers and I leave them in place when I use it, I don't need to look at porn either

Fr_chuck is right, computers in a house with children needs to be out in the open so no secrets can be kept. Keep it in the living room and be in the room when she is on it. When you leave, or don't want her on it, put a POWER UP password on it. This can be set up in the bios when the computer starts up and you push either F2 or F10 depending on your computer.
