    Cleaning Flat Top Range
Our new house has a glass top sealed range.

They sell all sorts of different very expensive cleaners for the top.

Is this necessary or would regular kitchen cleaner work the same? My wife is frustrated because we are going through a bottle of $6 cleaner every other week (she's a neat freak) and she hates spending that much if she can avoid it.

Well the burner area does need special treatment but not as much as your wife is doing, unless she has a lot of boil-overs, it isn't necessary. I used to use vinegar and water over all to clean and shine and only once in a while the special cleaner if I had a spill. Vinegar and water ratio one part vinegar, three part water is an excellent glass cleaner and just about a good all around cleaner and only costs pennies to use.
