You can do eBay or craigslist, but you have to worry about haggling with people and customer service.

If you have very high quality gold jewelry, shop it around to jewelers.

If you have a bunch of scrap gold and broke stuff, see this tutorial on selling scrap gold.

Do not do it from those TV commercials. Take that as my word of warning. I didn't need to sell but had some around I didn't wear. Some solid gold necklaces I just didn't wear any more, but not a thing wrong with them. Several of them. Plus some broken gold and single earrings. All solid good gold. I could not fill that bag and tighter and I was mailed a nice little check of $11.13. Stay away from that hoax. Ask a local jeweler what your best option would be.

I'd go to several local jewelry stores and don't accept the first offer.

I had a gold coin I wanted to sell some time back and the first offer was way, way lowball.

I want to know the best way to go about selling old gold jewelry. I am not sure if I should send away for those packets to use as a mailer, or go to a local jeweler. I have broken & twisted necklaces and some old rings, etc. Any advice will be welcomed.
