There is no cure for alopecia areata. There are no drugs approved to treat it. Doctors may use Minoxidil to treat it. Minoxidil is an anti-balding drug that is applied directly to the scalp. Minoxidil is not a cure for baldness, but it will help stimulate new hair growth.

Hormonal problems may cause hair loss. If your thyroid gland is overactive or underactive, your hair may fall out. This hair loss usually can be helped by treatment of the thyroid disease. Hair loss may occur if male or female hormones, known as androgens and estrogens, are out of balance. Correcting the hormone imbalance may stop your hair loss.

Please go see a doctor. The doctor will probably ask you some questions about your diet, any medicines you're taking, whether you've had a recent illness and how you take care of your hair. Then they will examine you to look for other causes of hair loss. Only a doctor can diagnose and treat your condition.

Xposebmw, if your hair is falling out, you should go to see a doctor just to be safe. The doctor will examine you and make a proper diagnosis.
