How about posting the compass full image?? It's the first time I see such a part in a compass... especially how exactly does that hold the pencil :confused:?

Ooo neato. That cylinder must be the dohickey part that holds the pencil.. I saw a what's this thing in a magazine.. these are fun wish I could have seen the Original post sooner

I have seen that one... even owned one like that... but don't like this kind... the pencil doesn't remains still, it moves loosely. Just want to see the one in the pic to be guessed. (well, was guessed)
