    Just looking for a general answer
    One of the guys I work with went out to move his car. He can start it and it runs but he can't shift out of park. Any ideas? It's an automatic transmission.

    Park pawl jammed by the steering wheel?
    Try applying pressure first to the right then to the left while trying to shift out of park.

    Make and model will help out here. Could be a fault in the shift interlock. Sometimes as simple as a bad brake pedal stop switch.
