    Acquiring a German passport
    Wondering why you aren't answering questions that have been asked??
    My question as others is can I get a german passport - both sets of my grandparents were born and lived in somewhere in germany. :)

    German citizenship is only acquired if one parent is German.

    Having German grandparents is not enough. You need to prove that one of your parents was a German citizen on the day you were born.

    Also, before 1975 only the father could pass on German citizenship.
